The Evergreen Fellowship

A Fellowship of Support

The Evergreen Fellowship of Sunnyside Communities is an ongoing tribute to our most generous and loyal supporters. Membership in the various circles, named for significant scriptural passages, is determined by the cumulative giving of individuals, churches, businesses and organizations. The 9:7 Circle includes donors who have made provisions for the Sunnyside Communities in their wills, trusts or other deferred gift vehicles where the amount of the gift is not known. When the gifts are realized, members of the 9:7 Circle will be listed in the appropriate circle.

We Invite You to Become a Member of the Evergreen Fellowship

In recognition of your generosity and leadership, you will receive:

  • Preferred invitations to special events as they are scheduled
  • Recognition as an Evergreen Fellowship member on a "donor wall of appreciation" at each of the Sunnyside Communities
  • A commemorative gift

Gifts of Cash

Cash donations are an easy way to support our ministry to older adults. If you itemize your deductions, you can deduct cash contributions on your tax return up to 50% of your adjusted gross income.

Gifts of Appreciated Assets

If you own appreciated assets, such as stocks or other securities, you may get additional tax benefits by donating these, rather than making a cash gift. Gifts of appreciated assets, which you have owned longer than 12 months are tax deductible up to 30% of your adjusted gross income, and excess deductions can be carried forward for up to five years. In addition, capital gains taxes are not assessed when property is gifted to Sunnyside Communities or another qualifying charity.

Life-Income Gifts

Life-income gifts can produce income for you, your family, or a designated beneficiary now, confer immediate tax benefits to you, and provide a meaningful gift to Sunnyside Communities. If you own appreciated stock which is paying little in dividend income, for instance, you may want to consider a Charitable Gift Annuity or Charitable Remainder Trust.

Give Through Your Will

By giving to Sunnyside through a bequest in your will, you are helping to ensure that our communities will continue to provide future generations of older adults the same compassionate care for which we are renowned. You can support our ministry in your will by designating a specific dollar amount, by leaving a percentage of your estate to Sunnyside Communities, or by leaving us the residue of your estate after all other beneficiaries have received their bequests.
